After a harrowing attempt on a judge's life at the courthouse, Deputy US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn are tasked with finding a missing woman and an endangered child in connection to the murder of the judge's wife. What seems like a fairly straightforward case becomes hopelessly tangled when the marshals discover that the woman they are searching for is in witness protection and the Amber Alert put out for the missing child has put two lives in danger.
Madison and Jonas are forced into a race to find the woman and the child before the men who want her dead discover her location. And in a final showdown that could cost her everything, Madison will come face-to-face with the person who murdered her husband.
USA Today bestselling author Lisa Harris concludes her thrilling US Marshals series with this breathless tale of secrets kept, lies exposed, and ultimately, justice prevailing.

When you read a lot of romantic suspense like I do, many of the stories blur together. You forget details because plots are so similar, and characters have the same types of backgrounds.  The Catch by Lisa Harris, however, does not fall under these same parameters.  What makes it unique is how little the romance influences the story—and I loved that element.  With The Catch, the relationship between Jonas and Madison does not take center stage.  Instead, Harris focuses on the crime.  The plot.  Instead of having romance with suspense, The Catch has suspense with a romance.  Because of this, Lisa Harris stands apart from many authors who write the same genre…and it is why I like her work as much as I do.

Unlike other series, it is important to read the two books that come prior to The Catch.  The final addition to Harris’s “US Marshals” trilogy has its own story, yes, but it follows the same two characters from the other novels and their growing relationship—professional and romantic.  Other series have siblings or best friends finding their true loves.  Instead of giving readers a rapidly developing tale in one book alone, Harris takes three books to define Jonas and Madison.  You get to know them just a little bit more with every book.  Thanks to the time Harris took to have her characters grow, I felt that I knew them.  They were not imaginary people. My brain created faces and voices for them. Jonas and Madison became my friends.

The Catch by Lisa Harris begins with drama and ends with drama. Gunshots. Kidnapping. Deception. Betrayal. You name it, The Catch has it…but the story is never overcrowded.  It is action-packed, but not in a way that confuses readers.  Easy to read and easy to follow, I only put the novel down because I needed to go to sleep.  When a dog woke me up early the next morning, I didn’t close my eyes again. Nope, I pulled out The Catch and read for an hour before getting dressed for work.

Harris is an expert in the field of figurative fishing. She baited me, and I grabbed hold…and The Catch reeled me in with no trouble at all.  No fighting.  No hesitation.  In other words, The Catch by Lisa Harris caught yours truly, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  It’s only a matter of time before Harris hooks me again!
