Find Financial Freedom and Know Your Worth
Maybe you’ve grown up with an unspoken message that you aren’t enough, aren’t called to lead, and aren’t capable of handling your finances. Before her journey to becoming a professional financial advisor began, this is how author Bethany Frymire felt.
But then she discovered that God had so much more for her. And He has more for your life too!
Women of Worth is about discovering the tools and confidence to say yes to whatever God has planned for you―in your finances and beyond. Bethany equips you with everything you need to tackle your finances with confidence.
As you are guided through key concepts such as budgeting, managing debt, investing, and more, you’ll also learn how to steward everything God brings into your life in a way that honors Him. Full of relatable stories, practical wisdom, and heartfelt encouragement, this empowering guide will equip you to step into the spaces God calls you to with courage and grace.
Bethany Frymire is a financial advisor, and she wrote this book to empower Christian women to understand and take ownership of their personal finances. She reflects on reasons why many women feel overwhelmed or incapable when it comes to managing money, and she encourages these readers to take heart that in spite of social scripts and negative messages about women and money, they are capable of stewarding their resources with wisdom, clarity, and confidence. She shares personal stories about her own growth in this area, particularly with pursuing a career advancement in financial planning, and she shares practical advice about multiple different financial topics.
Women who feel intimidated by personal finance conversations will appreciate Frymire’s compassionate, empowering advice. Her conversational writing style makes Women of Worth: A Faith-Based Guide to Financial Wisdom feel like a chat with a friend, and she explains key concepts in a down-to-earth, understandable way. She regularly shares anecdotes about her work and her family life to help readers understand and apply important financial principles, and she weaves in Christian faith themes throughout. She also shares helpful perspectives without making assumptions about a reader’s stage in life. Many books like this are explicitly targeted to married women with children in the home, and I appreciate this book speaking to a much broader demographic.
Although I value many things about Women of Worth, I found that I wasn’t the right audience for it. I would have preferred more in-depth financial information, with less of the page count consumed by personal anecdotes and inspirational stories. Frymire offers practical advice about topics like budgeting, making investments, being generous, and instilling financial values in the next generation, but the majority of the book’s focus is on vision-casting and empowerment. How much this book resonates with someone will depend on if they’re mainly looking for emotional support and foundational principles, or if they are seeking more in-depth advice about money topics.
